Heading to Melbourne
Hi guys,
I'm heading down to melbourne from the 28th of July to the 2nd of August with the missus. Not sure how much time I'll get to fish while we're down there but I'll have my travel rod with me. We're staying pretty close to the university, so it seems I won't be too far from the Yarra and docklands. Any tips for some good land based spots to go in the area? Particularly interested in bream, flatties and jewies. |

Probably wasting your time with flatties and they'd be absolutely rubbish to eat. But Jews are on nearly all the bridge pylons in both the Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers. The bream are usually on the edges especially with all this rain we've had. Jews are closer to the mouth of the Maribyrnong at the moment, I'd use plastics aswell as there is a heap of rubbish and thick weed on the bottom. I kept getting my vibes snagged up.

Thanks for the help! Eating quality isn't an issue as this trip will be catch and release only.
