Handle Knobs on Daiwas

Hey Guys,

Do you know how to take out the Handle [[KNOBS]] (NOT THE HANDLE) of Daiwa reels (mine is a Capricon 2000)

Got to clean the inside,

got so much grit and sand and dust in it!?
Gotta lube it 2

Thanx

The actual knobs are usually rivetted on and can't be removed.
I'd suggest removing the whole handle and swishing the nkob around in a small container of some solvent that will remove the oil/grease and dirt, but that won't effect the plastic/wood/rubber knob. Try something fairly innocuous like Metho first, then move up to say Turps or Kero id the Metho didn't do the trick.
Work the knob round and slide it along, then swish again. Do that a few times, then dry the surface and put it aside to allow the solvent to dry from the inside bearing surfaces. When you are happy that it's dry, lube it with your rell oiler or whatever you use.
