Aird baitcaster issue

Hey guys
Im heading into cod country for a few days and so i pulled out the rarely used aird bc to flick some spinner baits around. Upon inspection, the thumb trigger thingy doesnt click back particularly well after winding the handle and sometimes you have to press it down a few times before it comes back properly. Before i bust it open to inspect, anything i need to know or just go for it and see if i can figure it out?
Cheers

Very common in Daiwa bc reels mate.

My guarantee fix- strip it down and re lube the clutch mech and all associated odd and ends

It will def fix the issue

In other words, pay particular attention to everything inside the reel excluding drag washers, drive gears, pinion, springs, yolk.

Hope this is a bit clearer

Might even just be old grease that needs the boot. Spesh if it's just been sitting around gathering dust

Let us know how you mate

Yeah i very nearly balls it all up. Pulling it apart bits i didnt know were there were falling out and i didnt know how they were going back in!?! I thought i got it and put it back together only to realise the handle was stuck and wouldnt move. After doing it again and mucking around with it a bit i jagged it and it feels heaps better and the clutch system is sweet... For now anyways. Thanks again nagz, glad i did it first time on a cheap reel though.
