First bream - swan river

Hi

Great site!

I'm new to bream fishing and new to fishing in Perth but my (2yo) daughter loves fishing in general (born in NT) so we took the opportunity to flick a 2.5" grub on the Perth foreshore and caught this wee black bream. We hooked up to another bigger fish (presumably bream) but it busted us off; 4lb line on 1-3 kg blank. Caught n released for another day

Thanks all

Yes fishing with daughters rocks. Our (other) 11 week old girl is still a bit young but she was in pram off to side of camera haha.

When do the bream start to move back up into the freshwater snags (ie upper canning river and upper swan?)

Cheers

Pa here was our first (freshwater) barra before she could walk!

And her first trevally.

It's her bday this weekend (2yr) and it's no surprise she is getting a 3'9 pink fishing rod!

That is awesome, great pics and exactly what I have planned for the summer myself, a bit of fishing with the daughter, and the weather has just turned perfect for it.

Might have been a flathead that busted you off as well generally the fishing upriver gets better from now on throughout summer, but there are fish upriver all year round, just a bit slower when its cold.

Welcome to BM.

cheers

Great thanks richo

I hope to get back out Wednesday morning before work with kids while wife runs around the bridges. I wish she'd walk instead so we had more time fishing haha

Haha that's a great idea, and welcome to the forums! With the weather warming up the bream should start to be on the chew a bit more too, so hopefully you and the kids will all land a few pb's over the coming weeks!

Caught another (small) bream today - took the lure right down the hatch. Carefully took lure out n sent the wee fella on his way. I am definately hooked they're a great wee fish to target; the suspense (on the pause) is awesome
