Renegade v Outlaw
Can anyone give me a qualified answer as to the differences besides the way each is measured and marketed? So despite the stickers are there any differences?
Also can anyone give me the deadrise of the hull?

We looked @ both when we bought the Outlaw, don't think there is any difference at all in the internal layout.
Must be a bit of difference between the Milllenium & Evo hulls, even tho they're both made by Telwater. The only reason we went with the Stacer was cause we could get it cheaper locally, if it was the other way round would've ended up with the Quintrex. You probably knew all this already, but just my thoughts. |

The big difference in the 2 are the bottom sides stacer has the standard evo hull which is just a pressed sheet.
The quintrex has the millennium blade hull which is formed by using special dyes and a stretching process. There is also a small difference in the side sheets of the boat with the stacer having a large round pressing instead of the normal clinker pressing in most other alloy boats. Internal layouts are the same both great boats the quintrex will ride slightly better in rough conditions.

Can only comment on the Renegade blade hull as I currently own the 420. Have found it to be good in a chop and rides better than my older 4 meter quintrex dory did with the "standard" hull shape. Bring the nose down into the weather and it seems the faster you go (within reason) the better the hull handles.
Hope this helps Rhyno |

Thanks Benwah and Rhyno.
Yeah internal layout and specifications are identical. Just wonder if the difference is in the deadrise / shape below the waterline. Think I need to take another look. Rhyno, probably hard to pick with the renegade being wider, but do you notice any difference between the dory and the renagade in stability at rest?

CK,
The lay outs were totaly different as you say. In the Dory I put a casting deck in from the front seat forward and it had the 3/4 floor in the hull rather than the full decks like the renegade which did make it feel deeper. With the extra width on the renegade it makes it feel alot more stable even if the available freeboard feels less. Can easily move around on the boat fishing one or two up and not feel like it is unstable at all keeping in mind its a 4.2 meter boat its very stable. I think you will find there is a difference under the water line when you compare the two. If I can help out any more mate feel free to PM me or ask any questions on here Rhyno |

I can only comment on the Renegade. I have the 460 with a 70 Yammie and love it. Handles chop well and is very stable. Looked at a few others and am really glad I picked it. Good luck.

When I bought my Outlaw, I went and took photo's of both hulls to check the differences.. I could not see any.. they both looked very, very similar.. but most likely have a few small differences.. My Outlaw rides great in the chop in Port Phillip.. they are such a versatile boat..

Thanks for all the feedback.
I've been back and had a look at both hulls again & can see a noticeable difference in both at the sharp end. The Renegade looks to have the edge as far as ride is concerned. I wondered however if the cost differential was worth it and have since found that there is next to no difference between either brand. So looks like the Quintrex / Yamaha combo gets the nod. Thanks again for all the input.
