Hey bud i fish them as my go to hardbody down in tassie and have had a lot of success with them. I find them to be very similar to the smith panish... Just a bit easier on the wallet if you shop around...

They're great for shallow streams where you want a diver that only hits 1.5-2 feet max. Have heard of a lot of people using them with good success around the snowys before the spawning starts.

They're a great inexpensive little lure,
bit harder to cast than say an mx 48 but they float, so you can roll them off logs, snags etc . And that's where the trout will be hiding !

Im assuming we are talking about the small pins minnow? Pros: very slender profile, floats. Cons: can be hard to tune and can require a rip when retrieving in fast water to get it moving due to its very narrow bib. Casts poorly but thats to be expected of such a tiny floater and unless Ur seagulling ya mates, long casts are overrated for stream fishing anyway.

Its a good alternative to the mx48 but id never come out of the blocks with it tied on. Id give it a run if im getting nudges and short strikes on larger offerings and decide to downsize.

Mx48 does most things better. Only advantage of the pins is its so shallow. Prefer the mx48 and just fish tip up when you want to stay shallow.
