Why Do Bream Love Fluro Orange ????

What is it about Fluro Orange and Bream ?.

Some days Mr Breambo won't seem to eat anything else.

Fluro Orange seems to Trigger the Bite for some weird reason.

Lately in the super clears water and bright sunshine the Fluro Colors have been kicking it big time.

Anyone else found the same ???

I hear you Nordy.

I use orange lures (BBQ Prawn) a lot as a dirty water colour but tied it on one day in clear water Bang. I will almost always have one lure in that colour tied when I go out now.

The Blood Smig almost has the same characteristics.

Interesting question I've found that also in one area I fish in Adelaide . Having said that I have a ghost prawn(I think) crank minnow deep diver only got salmon trout on it
Put on some other lures or crank deep diving with orange in them and your bound to get something !!
As I found out this morning

True Bloodworm.

Ive been tying one on every time I go out lately as well.

We put it to the Test Two weekends ago.

Pinning around 50 Bream for the day with my fishing partner (not all Legals )

That day we played around with lots of colours between us just putting it to the test. Changing a lot both of us.

All the other colours where super super slow not much interest etc

As Soon as we put the Fluro Orange Back on. It was on again. Pinning Bream constantly

So there def something in that colour on certain days.

Never tried the Blood Smig that day but good thought. Next time it happens I give it a burst.

Regards Nordy

I thought it was something to do with UV? Orange always lights up under a UV light.

Yes we all know how UV reactive orange is.

Put any black like on Fluro Orange and it shines up 100%.

Maybe thats what triggering the bite the UV Flash

Weird Stuff But It works

Everything loves a bit of orange. Its always hard work at docklands but this is my go to colour for sure. Never feel confident unless its got an orange belly

Just started to airbrush my own lures last week. Was dressing up some black and gold minnows with an orange belly and thought I'd try an orange back on a clear one...pretty keen to toss it about on the flats to see if it gets some interest.

+1. The fish in my local respond very well to lures with an orange belly ... and particularly a black upper . Regards, HBt.
