Attack lure action.

I recently removed the middle treble from one of my Attack Lures, and the action is nowhere as good as it was. Compared to a Buggi Pop, should removing the middle treble effect the Attack's action? Or is it a case of retuning the bib.

Hi,

I have noticed a change in the action of an attack when i removed the middle treble. Might have been the knot i was using (it was different).

How do you go about retuning the bib???

Seems to be set unlike some other lures.

Hey guys.
When you say, "Compared to a buggi pop", what exactly do you mean?
A buggi Pop is a popper, removing the front treble will make very little difference. That is a pretty unreasonable comparison. A popper to a bibbed minnow.
I can't say Ive removed the front treble on an Attack so can't really comment on its action.
Just thought I'd ask.

No problem

Fish attacks alot without the front treble and still kick ass. Seems to me no effect takes place more likly you need to bend eye one way or the other.lfish alot of weed beds and the absence of the front treble is of a great benefit to me in dreceasing the amount of weed gathered on retrieval. Keep the BREAM alive seeya

no probs here either, use attacks without middle treble a lot.
action can altered by tweeking the tow point.
if it swims left bend to the right and vice versa.
to produce a faster, tighter wiggle bend up a touch,a slower, wider wobble bend down.
just takes a bit of time but taking middle treble off does nothing to action if tuned ok.
cheers

Dave,

I was using the buggi pop reference to compare the fact if you remove the middle treble from it, the action doesnt change, yet it does with the Attack. Just trying to find a correlation between the middle treble and the action. I didnt think there would be one, but clearly there is. I put the treble back and presto, the Attack swims better again.

Just to clarify, with the middle treble, the attack wobbles side to side, without, it jerks back and forth with minimal sideways wobble.

(buggi pop is the little popper with the feather thingy at the back, rite?) hmmm, as far as i know, buggi pop doesn't have any action at all. it just moves forward when u reel it in like any other poppers do.

Taking the front treble off will change the weight and therefore the action as well. Just wrap a little bit of fly wire on where the treble was - that should get the action back, put to much on and it`ll stuff it - there seems to be a pretty fine line. I do it with 52 scorps in the snags and make them suspenders with a slightly different action.

cheers

Nah the buggi pop is a little cicada looking critter (River2Sea) with no trailing attractant. Its Wide bill makes it wobble side to side when retrieved slowly with a high rod action.
