Knots for light line

When I go down to light leaders 3lb and lighter I struggle tying a uni-knot to my jigeads and lures. I have started going back to a locked half-blood knot which seems a bit easier to tie.

What knot do you use when you are down that light?

TIA

my issue comes at the leader knot i.e. when there is a bit of wind and tying 0.4/0.6pe into a slim beauty !!

terminal knot - uni from 3lb to 100lb ... 5-6 turns. can still do it in the dark with my eyes closed ... what are you finding difficult about it ?

Getting the tag through the loop six times. I stuff it up once and the line seems to loose some stiffness so makes it hard the second time.

Frustration builds......

yeah most of the time. It gets hard to get it to lock down once you get up around 80lb. It's by far the strongest loop knot I've ever used. I used it throwing placcies for kings with 16lb FC rock leader on 16lb unitika with an FG, and when I snagged up I popped the FG.

I just use an improved fg knot now for everything, it's such an awesome knot, so strong and so thin! I cannot break it with my hands trying as hard as I can, tying 3lb braid to 3lb leader.

EDIT: I read the question wrong! sorry

The Palomar Knot is a very simple and lovely knot plus a quick knot to tie. It very seldom provides any problems.

It is a knot I use on 2lb fluoro almost all the time.

Another very quick tying knot, but also very slim and 100% strong is the Davy knot. I have used this knot over the years on occasions. This is a knot that tournament fly fishing championship anglers do use and you are talking >3lb trout, so it works well with any other fish also. There is a little trick to this knot, so practise this one and you may find it another knot in your cap that you may need to pull out one day when you're having one of those knot failing days.

I use Palomar for all my terminals. Mainline x leader it's the Slim Beauty with extra turns and a dab of superglue.

I second the improved fg and the fella on you tube does a good job explaining it to. Second the palomar knot if tying direct.... I find when trying new knots alot of them are good for certain situations. E.g if iv only got half hour of fishing left im not going to sit down and tie a fg I will tie a improved slim beauty as its about 3mins quicker... but if im setting up at home I tie fgs on everything dont limit your self to the one knot. You will obviously have your favorites and after a while its second nature to tie them good luck
