Vibe colours and shape.
Hey gents
Im sure this has been done to death but id like to share the outcome of a discussion(full blown each end of the boat war) regarding colours vs vibe weight and shape. We were rocking around newlands and paynesville annoying the local bream population and i bet him a buck i could out fish him without even using paint. And even to my surprise it worked. I went fish a cast on a little 35ish sized vibe copper body and lead head for about two hours. Where he was using a similar assortment of vibes of various colours mostly about the 20 dollar mark of witch he has ever colour known to man. I destroyed him. It was awesome. My 80c vibe 45 odd bream for the morning with about 15 going size with a few decent fish where he slugged about 12 all up. Im not knocking the mans skill. The dude can smell bream. Could of just been my day. The water was reasonably dirty i spose and the wind was rocking pretty hard. I just thought it was funny as that it worked out the way it did. I truly believe shape retrieve and weight have a lot more to do with it than colour. I still believe colours catch more fish than fisherman. Saying that i think there is a lot to be said for the diff between a matt finish and a flashy finish. I have always done a lot better with matt finishes( being my experince). I have caught some fish on some truly hideous looking lures lately. Even one little strike pro Halph covered in house paint. Annoys the ?$&)??! Out of me mate haha. Just wondering whats the strangest lure you have ever managed to get to work effectively? I once seen a bloke do pretty well with a jig head and a smoke butt on flathead.
