lure definitions
Hi all,
new to the forum, & new to luring etc. what is the difference between the following hard body lures? minnow, crank, shad, and how are they identified? thanks in adavance. Gav. |

best way to find out is google each hit the image button, and you will see the difference,,someone will put it up in words but pictures tell a thousand words,,just wait till you have to work out how to retrieve them,,that's the fun part

They're basically differentiated by their body shape.
A minnow lure is usually long in relation to it's width. Its elongated body makes it look like a minnow, hence the name. A crank is usually quite short and thick through the body. Its a compact lure, but due to its thickness it's usually quite heavy for its size making it good to cast. A shad is in between the two already mentioned. It will usually have a thicker head and shoulders, tapering away to a thinner tail, often with a concave underbelly. Last edited by Windknot; 17-07-2013 at 12:23 AM. |

Check out the Cranka lures, they have a crank, shad and minnow.
I use them all the same way. slow roll.
