carbon drag

just put a carbon drag washer in a 1000 stella but now it sort of sounds like the washer is turning with the spool?it make sort of a friction sound its hard to explane, any1 else done this or has some advice? thanks

yer mate but i have a feeling not enough grease ill chuck some more on and see how i go

Shouldn't need too much. Just enough so that theres a thin layer over both sides of the washer. Try more and see how you go.

Best thing massage the grease into the washer and remove any excess with a rag like pinching it lightly with the rag over your finger tips.

Impregnating the washer with grease will be a better solution rather than applying it lightly to the outer sides of it only.

If the problem is fixed, is your Stella's drag smoother, is there much difference?
