I haven't used one yet.. But had a play with a couple at my local shop.they look nice, quite light weight wise and a really good finish on them for a sub $200 rod..

Is that what they are retailing for in OZ? Mate i think we were paying like 70$ for them a few years ago from Japan. They are from memory one of Major Crafts entry level rods so to speak. Used a couple different models of these rods only in spin models, we bought them for rough kayak trips and couldn't fault them, great components, well finished and nicely balanced. I no longer have these rods but have quiet a few rods spread right through there Giant Killing , Benyero, Crostage and Go-Emotion range and cannot complain. Who and where are you getting these prices?

uuuhmmm, better rods out there for the money.

They look great and are well finished. But just don't feel that responsive. They kind feel like the daiwa gen black rods.

I tipped one on the second time i used them.

there was an earlier thread someone had started 8itching about pricing, middle men, bumping the price up etc. etc. so i'll leave that out for this one

the basspara is a solid entry level rod, i have a 4-8lb that i use for bassing with spinners and top waters and it does quite a good job. cosmetically it's a great looking range and they are better made than daiwa's in the $139-$149 price range - which is what i'd be happy to pay for one

i also have a Slicer and that's got a much better blank, components and feel .. i'd go as far to say twice as good as the basspara .. but i don't know if this model is available in oz

majorcraft has a massssssssive range though so best to pick one up before you buy if possible .. the basspara is a solid entry level rod IMO but won't cut it at $189 for me
