Flouro rod length?

Hey guys, I'm after some help, I've been using 3lb fc for small hard bodies now for a few months but am convinced there's gotta be a better way!!
I'm using my trusty sr842 imx, it is a great rod but I can't help but think its too (soft) in action, I reckon I need a stick with more flick (stiff) in it to belt out the cast further and feel a bit more of what's going on at the rod.
I've got a tsr and a dsr glx but I'm worried about the recoils with the flouro, also most stuff you read says you should use a soft rod for light fc.
Also any input on rod length? Short 6 foot or 7 foot plus for fc?

Some thoughts or discussion would be appreciated!

I have same line on Daiwa Luvias 2004 matched with 6ft9 Black label rod, it does job nicely for me

I have the same line on a gen black itchy twitchy 6 10 and it pings lure pretty far !

Rod length isn't an issue, if I'm throwing stick minnows around hulls I go 6ft... If I'm throwing hards across flats then it's 7ft+. Recoils are fine with fluro straight through mate. I use an Mx Ajing 7'1 and 7'4 for my fluro work and they're super fast actioned which I prefer, check em out. You don't need to run a softer/slower rod for fc mate, If you know what you're doing and have a quality reel with a smooth drag its fine let the line do the work!

I'm using my 2.5lb fluoro set up on a Itchy Twichy Gen Black with a Aird 2000. 1-2kg but has some nice balls and is actually my favourite set up (over the Black Label/Airity and Stradic/Omen combos).

Use the Tsr, I run flouro on mine and never a problem. Generally a rod with a slower more forgiving taper is what your after to be gentle on such light lines

hi mate, similar to the responses above ive found daiwas (steez, tdx, gen black etc) to be great as the crisp action lets u stay in contact, but the rods give way under their parabolic action when the fish take a good run. the action may be 'fast' but also quite forgiving at the same time. its quite incredible changing to new technology, the amount of extra feel you get

Don't be concerned with FC and Recoils, Ive been running 2 and 3lb FC for Crankbaits on T-Curve Flights (SiC stripper and tip and recoil infills) for ages and never had a problem. Both are 7 footers.

I cant comment on the difference btw the Loomis rods but to me action plays a part in cushioning lunges but so does the drag on the reel and the biggest "shock absorber" in the system is the FC line itself.
