Dropped Reel, Help!

Hi all,
Well i was down at the canning bridge flats this arvo, got off to a great start with a nice 30cm bream, then 2 more followed within 30 min. Well i was unhooking the fish when i dropped me whole rig in the water.
I just bought a silstar rod and daiwa samurai 1500 reel. Should i be taking the reel apart and wash it with fresh water? Should i use CRC to prevent rust or anything?

Some info would be great, what a bummer end to a good session.

Cheers,

Ports

First strip the reel and give a thorough washing in fresh water this includes all of your drag washers as well
I dont know if your samuri has got sealed bearings in it but make sure they are completley dry reassemble the reel and regrease/oil
I use a 50/50 mix of grease and oil in all of my reels
Only use CRC on the outside Inox is better as it dos'nt leave a oily film to gather dust

Any good quality reel grease but the oil I'm using at the moment is 5w Motorcycle fork oil only cause I've got heaps left over from biking days But any good light weight oil should do

Used to use Silicon grease exclusivley but found it made the reel a touch heavy to operate but still use it on ALL of my drag washers but only very lightly otherwise it can and will make for a sticky drag
Anyway stop reading this and get to your reel
