new daiwa tatula

I just saw this on Facebook and got all excited as I have been looking for a reel to chuck on a gen black bullpup travel rod to use for natives. I have been tossing up between a zillion and a t3mx and this seems to fill the gap between the two perfectly

http://daiwafishing.com.au/tatula/

Anyone else excited for this?

That free spin was pretty impressive, I think it's going to be weighty though.

Ooh nice! Design changes look interesting. I assume that it being an alloy frame, it will be SW safe??

Might be a nice match for my heavy rod

Cheers

DAM you daiwa I only got a J dream a little while back now this comes out I'd rater this would look sweet on my MB cyclone. He even compared it to a Zillion J dream lol

will this become the new zillion??

I'd say it'll be more $$ than a zillion for sure

See the rod he's got it on I wonder if thats one of the new bttler rods aye????

Na they released a range of tatula rods in the US as well as the reel, I think the rods are only mid/low range.

I think it has a T Wing System but i dont think i saw the open/close lid that the T3s have. I wonder if they made it work another way.

It did look like it had the T-Wing system but instead of the whole lid thing moving it looked like a small component above and forward of the spool was doing the job of the lid. In the video it looked like this component had TWS etched on it.

Pause it at 9 seconds. You'll see that the T guide tilts backwards and forces the line into a much deeper groove than the old wing, rather than forcing the line into place with the top bar. This is a much better design imo. Way less moving parts.

Also at 0:38 you can see that the wider part of the t-wing is a fair bit larger than previously.

I hope these will come in a slow, cranking ratio.

I really want one I reckon they look amazing cant wait to see one in the flesh

I see how the new system works have a close look at 2:49 the actual line guide flips down wards so the line is chaneled thrught the T section on the cast but when the clutch is released the line go back through the narrow part of the T
