Docklands advice

Hey guys,

I'll be over your way from tomorrow to Sunday for work. I'm staying around the Docklands area and want to try sneak in a quick session or two.

I just want a couple of simple tips so I can pack light, if that's OK?

any advice about what to bring along... leader size, plastics or vibes, etc?

Cheers,

Hey Hazell welcome to Melbourne Leader size 4 or 6 pound is fine. Plenty of lures to use i find vibes/blades the go to go lures

Vibes/blades - strike pro micro vives, river to sea baby vibes, TT switchblades. Strike pro cyber vibes, ecogear zx and vx blades. Plastics work well to wrigglers, Berkely gulp 2 or 6 inch sandworms. Goodluk hope you get em.

Also for technique fish around the boats, pontoons, pylons. If you tea bag the structure you should get a few they normally hit you on the drop expecially when using the Micro vibes they work a treat :-))

Cheers,
Equip yourself with Strike Pro micro vibes and Sebile Shads 35mm in various colours, and some Gulp Minnows for the deeper stuff. The small Salmon are getting in the way, when you try to fish for the Bream, they will come along and smash your lures hehe. Pinkies still around as by catch.

As you already know, a cast against the structure gets you a Bream, and recently for me a regular miss cast a metre or 2 off the structure is getting me Salmon hehe. Becarefull of the lil Fury Penguins. Cute lil things.

I'm finding 6lb leader is still too heavy in the winter dirty water around there. So use 4lb and the bites really pick up. People have been using blades succesfully, but mine are coming on the Strike Pros and Sebile Shadd 35mm and Duo Ebikko's.

Good Luck and welcome to Melbourne ! Wish the weather was nicer for you.

Hey guys,

I'll be hitting the docklands tomorrow morning (not too early). I look a bit like the guy in my avatar so come say hello if you see me. I'll start around the northern end, below the apartment constructions.

Cheers, ash
