Ridiculous luck

I was fishing a snaggy stretch LB on a very public walkway yesterday when i snagged up my last Nories minnow on what felt like a lure eating rock, stuff it i thought there goes one of my favorites.I took 1 step towards the snag and noticed a lure on the ground laying on a rock and bent down to pick it up......what do you know it was a nories minnow in the same colour as the one presently snagged on a rock but with the trebles rusted off so i happily put it in my pocket and went towards the snag to try and get my original off which i'm happy to say i did
The coincidence doesn't end there as it turns out i lost another nories minnow in the same colour to a snag about 5 months ago just 20metres from where i got snagged today..... i reckon i got my original back but just had to wait for the trebles to rust off feel free to add any good luck stories of your own.
cheers nereus

This is my story of luck........
A few years back,I brought a brand new Diawa combo for bream.A day or two later I went for a flick off my then local rock wall, with my new combo. As I got to my spot I noticed some fish bust up on the surface,so I quickly picked up my other rod that was all ready rigged up from the last session and belted out a cast.......to my horror I had some how hooked up my brand new rod and reel and sent it flying over my shoulder into the drink in front of me I franticly tried to find it,but the water was dirty and had no luck in finding it.I hadnt even had a chance to cast the new combo yet.

A week later I return to the same spot and about 30mins into my session,I notice something shimmering in the water about 3-5m in front of me.To my amazment I realise that its a fishing reel and that it had to be my new combo!! So any way I tie on the biggest hook I had onto my line and after a few attempts I manage to hook it,and bring it in! Guess what............?
It was my combo I couldnt belive my luck, after a bit of service on the reel she was good as gold

Went down to my local bass spot yesterday afternoon. about 30 casts later hooked up to my first freshwater bream. suprised the hell out of me! couple of casts later the lure went a bit funny and thought 'hello, piece of fishing line'. well next thing in comes a megabass griffon lure!!!!! turns out it was the same lure i lost there n the rocks snagged up about 2-3 months ago. couldn't beleve it. the rest of the session was a cracker with a 43cm bass and 2 little tiddlers around 35cm. Last cast of the day said goodbye to my crackerjack 3(eight) shallow as the leader whipped cracked. it landed on the other side in the grass. Couldnt find it today but unusually on my way to the other side cast in a small pool and out came 35mm bass, let him go and turn around to find a crap diver lure in a tree at eye level which will prolly work on the bass.

crazy!!!!

I've had one of the local rats cast my rod and reel into the drink on the back cast Sexton,i waited for an apology that never came and the little punk slunk off while i was retrieving it.....lucky he didn't pinch my tacklebox i guess.
Good one Siddo, don't worry about the crackerjack.......it will probably turn up.

I was fishing in a little bass creek and mum wanted to catch a bass so I caught some live shrimp for bait and I rigged up her rod and went down chasing some bass she got a little one then she rebaited and went to cast out and as she casted I hooked up on surface and it put her casting a bit off haha she casted really high about 7m high into a over hanging branch above and she hooked a line she pulled it out and the lure falls 1m in the water in front of us it was a exact body of a jackal chubby shallow but bigger I think its called a jackal 10cc it worked for bass!

My good luck,

My son and I fishing the Shoalhaven river one day, when he trips in the boat and throws my shimano raider rod and reel combo overboard. Me frantically trying to reach it with the rod I had in my hands to no avail. A week later a mate of mine fishing 100 metres from where I was hooked what he thought was a snag but turned out to be my rod and reel combo. I didn't believe him when he rung me. Wasn't until I saw the photo he texted me did I get in my car and drive to the river to meet him and get my combo back. Let me just say the beer economy certainly came into play that day.

Cheers

Adam

Fishing my secret bass creek with my brother one weekend and he had a shocker. Not only did he not catch a bass while i was pulling them in one after the other but he lost 3 of his favorite lures. Since i had such a cracker day the day before i went back the next day while walking the banks i just kept coming along lures floating in the water 3 to be precise. Had a chuckle to myself and yes i gave the lures back to my brother but he has never been back to .........creek again

A few years ago I was fishing Nelson's lagoon on the far south coast walking the flats.
I had I brand new water proof camera in my board shorts pocket to get some cool snaps
The current was racing out through the mouth were I was wading and as I reached for my camera it was gone
After hours of searching every inch of the flats I finally accepted defeat and new with the racing current it was gone way out to the ocean due to it not sinking like a rock
I went back to the bank to my mate and the girls very sad and broken a new camera with all my pictures of fishing and of my recent trip to Europe gone and I hadn't backed them up
Anyway we started swimming and letting the current take us all the way out through the channel out to the mouth when something from the shallows in the oyster rocks caught the sun and got me in the eyes I went over and sure enough it was my camera I nearly cried with joy it would have been 200 to 300 meters away from we're I was

One time me and my Dad were diving a couple of miles off Mandurah in about 8m of water. We were looking for crays and what not. Anyways it got to the point when i was looking for crays in a tight ledge when i bumped my head. Hang on a sec, theres supposed to be a gopro there!! I felt on top of my head, it had fallen off... I had a hood on my wetty so didnt notice it falling off. I signalled dad and we backtracked the whole dive looking for it, but to no avail. we called it quits and headed back to the boat. Next day dad heads out again to the same spot to look for more crays. I didnt go as i was as crook as a dog. Hours later i get a text from dad saying "found gopro". At first i thought he was kidding but then he sent me a pic!! Not only that he found some nice cowrie shells and got some crays! He comes back home, with the gopro, and tells me that it was sitting dead center of a massive arch! We watched the footage of it falling off and hitting the bottom, was crazy!!! To this day i still use it and it doesnt miss a beat!

I once lost a rod and reel to a carp, pulled a jackall bros i-spec 68 rod in the water with a 2004 luvias with a certate spool on it.

After 10-15 minutes of casting a deep diving lure in the same area I felt some weight. I hooked the braid of the outfit I lost, landed the rod and reel, and landed the fish

Lost an Exist 2506 + Loomis TSR862 GLX over the side of the yak while chasing monster redfin in an impoundment. Caught one rat that whole day previous to losing the outfit. Not so lucky

I'm amazed at some of the luck we have at times, you just wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to you.
When i was a kid i hooked a massive cuttlefish and busted it off lifting it up on the rocks,i went home with my tail between my legs and told my dad i'd lost another squid jag.He said well if you can beat me over a 5km run i'll buy you another, well i beat him and he bought me another jag"he may of let me win i suspect".
The next day i was out squidding again and hooked another cuttly and this time managed to land it.....stuck in its tenticles was the jag i'd lost the day before.
cheers nereus

A few weeks ago I had all my gear all over the floor and while trying to avoid stepping on stuff I tripped over and fell into my rod rack! Was lucky I didn't snap 8 Megabass rods in one go.......
