Hey all, just as the title suggests, tossing up between getting some more Jackall Chubbies or Strike Pro Cyber Cranks.
Has anyone cast these side by side to notice differences in swimming action, casting performance, floating speed etc. Just wanting to purchase a few more long casting cranks for flats areas and to be used as a search bait. So the key here will be which casts further, and which has the best action (imo). Not trying to rubbish one or the other, just want some honest opinions as the only discernable differences I've noted from my search so far is colour range and also the chamber in which the weighted ball runs in (Jackall's is curved, strike pro's is sorta a right angle to lock the ball when cranking). I also note that Jackall has a few more styles in terms of suspending and floating but I can still change the strike to do the same. Any assistance you can give would be great, as I have no experience with the strike pro cyber crank to date. |

Used a Cyber Crank last week for the first time... Thought it was ok. Got 2 rats on it. But for my money the Chubbies cast better and impart more action...

Just my opinion
Hey bud. Reckon go the chubby. I love my jackall lures. For salt and fresh. My chubbys have bin the cause of some good bream of late. They cast awesome and are just a grate quality lure. The sinking ones are really good for prospecting those deeper flats.

I have never seen the Strike Pro version (Great lure makes in general), but the River2Sea version that seems to be the same mould as the Jackall but for half the price is an excellent lure. Strongly constructed, great bib, same trebles as the Jackall. And the best thing about it, its $6 at one of the big main camping stores and a lil over $12 at others. Over $20 for the same lure and probably same factory is steep. The Jackall Squirrel and Squad Shads are some excellent lures that are worth getting, and can be had for around $10 posted from abroad. Their popular in the US for Bass fishing etc hence their more competitive prices.

Thanks for the replies guys. Think I'll prob stick with the chubbies when stocking, but might grab 1 or 2 of the other very similar profiles out there and throw them side by side to get a feel.

I have found that while not as good the Kokoda Wee Wop is similar in action to a Chubby and is a good lure to prospect with ... and at $7.00 is easier on the pocket if anything untoward happens before sending in the Chubbies. Good luck with your choice. Regards, HBt.

I have the found the best copy of a chubby is the Berkley 3b Fatdogs, but as they always say you can't go past the original.
