Softening stiff plastics???
Is there any way of softening soft plastics that are to stiff?
I have some squidgy fish in the gary glitter colour that are way stiffer than the evil minnow. Is there a way to soften them? Last edited by BREAMCRAFT3000; 25-03-2013 at 08:20 AM. |

Stick them in boiling water for a minute or 2 then put them in some cool water straight away to stop them going sticky, also if you leave them floating in the cool water for a few hours it straightens out any wonky tails.

will this work on gulp shrimps with wonky tails? do you have to put them in boiling water first or will the cold do the job itself?

Recipes for heat-treating soft plastics to soften them and enhance their actions vary considerably amongst fans of the technique. Some simply dump a few packets of tails or pre-rigged softies into a pot of boiling water and boil the billy-oh out of them for quite a few minutes! http://starlofishing.me/2011/12/20/c...whats-cooking/
