Sqidgies new recipe?

Got a free pre rigged wriggler with the new modern mag. Noticed it was harder and felt more durable. It is in a genuine wrapper. Have they changed the formula ? If they come out like this in tackle store packs I will start buying them again as I am sick of them falling of the hook

agreed! great lure, not durable enough, its not uncommon to go through a pack in an hour or less on a hot bite

If you're talking about the pro range bloodworm wrigglers, I picked up a proper pack the other day that has a more yellowish colour and feels more firm. I didn't realize until I got home as I grabbed a few packs of wasabi wrigglers and I got some lobbies and already had a handful of zman. Later on my girlfriend spotted those wrigglers on the mag at the newsagent and we figured these ones that are munted just had something go wrong in production and they just need to get rid of them. They could be better though, I haven't had a chance to test them out yet. One of the best plastics for bream but I usually can only manage one fish per tail and sometimes not even that.

If they have changed their recipe then it would not be the first time. I found the early squdgies much tougher when compared to the pro range.
Hopefully they have gone back to something like the original

when I asked the bloke at Tackleworld where the bloodworm wrigglers were he pointed to a lot of pale yellow looking models!
He laughed and said they've got the mix wrong on the latest batch!!!!

I live in the same town as bushy and the guys said he was not impressed when he saw them!!

I took a pack and they suck, I like the supple action for the drop! These were too stiff and my mate fishing older dark brown ones got 2 35cm bream and an ep at 40 on the weekend when we went out and I didn't get a touch!

My mate is very concerned as this is his go to lately!!!.....he's running out of good old soft ones fast
Cheers matt

Yeah they're not the most durable of plastics. The point at which the hook exits the top of the plastic is the part that tears for me. But if its a hot bite you can just make a new exit point slightly to the left or right of the tear. They're hungry and attracted more so to the scent and wiggle of the tail so they'll slam it even if its lopsided after re-rigging a new exit hole. And if they rip the tail or most of the tail you can still chuck em out and catch fish. Look at ecogear prawns..
I would basically use a wriggler to the point where its a laughing matter during a hot bite.

But on quiet days presentation is everything to me and yeah I'll throw away a damaged wriggler with less hesitation in comparison to a hot bite. But the flip side is usually on quiet days the bream will softly take the lure or not so much with the vigorous head shakes or aggressive strikes on a hot bite. So it balances out a bit in the end.
Although that's just my experiences.

Just a heads up from the squidgy Facebook the bloodworm wrigglers will be hard to find for a few months. Something went belly up with the production. Get some now if you like them.

The bloodworm wrigglers have always had multiple blends in colour from batch to batch. Looking at those they could have given that colour a new name altogether! They should have binned them.

I'm in the Illawarra and have noticed the yellow bloodworm wrigglers.Bloodworm is bloodworm not yellow. I've gone to the Z Man grubs anyway. I still like the flick baits though. Wish they were more durable.

I May have my wires crossed but wasn't Brett Wilson head of Squidgy Aust. And isn't he doing his own gig now? Still affiliated with Shimano I think tho.

Not sure how this relates to the stuffed up colour of the bloodworm wrigglers?
