Murray cod close to Sydney

Hey guys I'm looking at chasing murray cod and ticking it of my captured list and was wondering where some good spots are to chase them, I'll be fishing landbased possibly with a tinny and preferably spots closer to sydney..
I'm also interested in what are the prime conditions, times of year, go too lures etc any tips would be much appreciated.

Bumping an old thread here. I'm also interested. I recently purchased my first baitcaster and would love to give them a crack. I'll be looking for lures shortly so any tips would be great.

Cheers guys,
Joel

Some of the biggest Murray cod in Australia are located 30 mins from sydney........... However it is completely illegal to fish the huge dams they are in
Imagine huge water ways stocked for a lot of years with Murray cod and silver perch and macquarie perch
I know if a bunch of guys that go to huge lengths to fish these catch and release and the stories and pics they have are insane but it ain't worth it for me, a lot of effort, walking and bush tracking and a chance of huge fines. Not for me

Yeah thanks Jay. A quick google provided a few names of such places. Definitely not worth it for me. I don't even know how to catch them yet!

I'm thinking of going just past Lithgow somewhere.
