Taking the plunge

After much research, wishing and visits to the bank manager, I've put money down on boat.
I had seen links to Elegant boats ( http://www.elegantboats.com/boat.html ) om breammaster last year. Funnily enough my work has moved me from Perth to Newcastle and elegant boats are about 15 minutes from where I live.
I was bloody impressed by what I saw, so I went ahead and ordered the 4.7 metre Hull. I've got an 80HP yamaha 4 stroke to provide movement (rapidly with any luck). It will have a fairly basic lay out to begin with, full floor, front casting deck, under floor fuel, large live well and a side console. Once I've fished out of it for a while I'll get the rest of the interior laid out to meet my needs. construction should start in about a month and hopefully be on the water sometime in April.
I'll be posting pic's as it gets built
I'm bloody excited and the wait is going to kill me.

Thumbs up Hot looking Boats

I have looked at their hulls numerous times. They are great. They look tough, and stable, especially with those huge chines.

So what colour are you going to paint it? The paint jobs on some of the units on the web site are hot.

Have you decided on a name yet? I'm still struggeling with mine. So far the best i have come up with is "Bcause" - the reasoning is that everyone keeps asking why.

I'm sure you wont be disappointed with it.

Cheers
Choppy

I've got the colour down to two choices, both falcon XR8 colours 1st choice Acid rush (metalic) or Citric Acid. Either will stand out pretty well, but the metallic colour comes at a premium and the budget is tight.
I've got a short list for names, but I'm going to wait till I'm in the boat to make a final decision.
here's a few,

BELOW ME (in huge lettering, could be a problem when radioing for assistance though )

Angler Management (bit long)

Gone to Pisces

Full Metal Bucket

Bream it on

Fool 'A Fish

Let me know what you think, or if anyone out there is already using any of them. I'd hate to copy someone elses name. Its almost as bad having a few to choose from as it is when you can't think of something.

yeah, below me and angler man.... are probably the most likely candidates.

I can still imagine this radio conversation though.

"help, boat in need of assistance"

"please give us your vessel name and whereabouts"

"Below me under the narrows"

"rack off smart arse"

Ah well, stuff em if they can't take a joke

Spoke to Raffy from Elegant boats while at the show in Sydney. My pre cut metal has started arriving. He's got a 5 metre boat on the jig at the moment and then mine is next of the rank.
I'm popping in tues day arvo for some "very" preliminary shots.

Now all I need is 4.7 metres of Aluminium in the middle to attach them and a steering wheel to.

There has been a delay at the metal cutters, but My boat should be on the jig sometime next week.

I'll say it again, the wait is killing me. I'm not going to be in the water in time for the gold coast comp, but there is still a couple northern NSW rounds to come later in the year.

I might have to bolt the riptide onto the 12 footer I borrowed last weekend, just to give it test of course. Somehow I can't see the Yami being tested till my boats ready. I can see some bouyancy issues with a 165kg motor on the back the little tinny
