Salt impregnated plastics
What does the salt do in "salt impregnated" SP's ?

Makes them a bit more dense Jim, most heavily salted plastics sink rather than float
Also, the theory is that fish are more likely to hold onto something 'salty' - I don't really know as in the right mood they'll hit just about anything - just ask the bloke who caught a Bream on a pink Barbie shoe

Hi Dave,
I will have to order some of them, I can see the benefits of some slowly sinking SP's. In another forum I read that you have a Daiwa Procaster 602LFS. What a great little rod they are for an off the shelf model. I have had one for about 2 years, I bought it for one of my sons but I always find an excuse for him not to use it. Jim

They are a great rod - and at that price I'm not scared of being a bit heavy handed with it (try bow-and-arrow casts under docks and pontoons, the rod always ends up hitting something)
The Ecogear range also sinks. If you haven't tried them yet, have a go - I love the Mini-Tanks and Grass Minnows (try the Shrimp Shell, Grape core )Cheers,
