They swim good on a slow to steady retrieve but cast like DohDohDohDohe, am experimenting with some sticky lead on mine atm.

Am a fan of atomics but to me these are a bit of let down.

I've got about 90% of the colours in the double deep, body looks great! bib seems flimsy. No way they'll cast better then the Deeps or mids but it is pretty obvious that these aren't going to cast well with a extra large bib, these really need to be used to their abilities. Not much point complaining about it I think.

Yeah but only diving to 1.8m as a "Double deep" and casting like crap due to the large bib, as opposed to the well casting usual deep cranks that go around 2m anyway. In these situations give me a deep Cranka or Chubby anyday.

Don't forget those deep diving good casting small cranks (Chubby, OSP Dunk) are nearly twice as much... you always get what you pay for.

Cranka's are about $4 more and I am happy to pay this for castability! The atomics in the Mid and Deep are great however I don't like the double deeps.

Got one in Micks Madness.... No idea why but I reckon it'll nail fish. Haven't had a suitable opportunity to tie it on yet though.

A Cranka Deep won't run 1.8, it's flat out getting to 1.4 in the salt. 1.8 is Fresh tank tested. Saying that I haven't run my Double deeps yet so I can't back up what they run either.

I find on ultralight leader a normal atomic deep can bottom out at just under 2m (as in a bit less than). CX35's are a good alternative for a deep diving well castable lure too love them all though (gosh I LOVE CRANKS LOL)

I don't like atomic cranks anymore... Don't know why either, just rather go with a cranka.

Atomic Cranks are very bouyant, so there's little point in comparing them to Cranka Cranks which are suspenders. I haven't actually got around to testing the double deeps yet either, but I have high hopes for them, even if I have to resort to adding extra weight to them.

the castability is what it is...
like any lure with a big jumbo bib like r2s d40f's they cast terrible but when the your having a terrible day theyre still good for trolling for flathead lol
I dont usually troll, but hey its good fun for the kids!

so yeah i'll prob buy 1 or 2 and test them out...
in my fav' atomic colour of course, go ghost green!!!
