Triton Bass Boats

Wanted to call on other Triton Owners to this thread. More so to get some ideas and share info about the Tritons.

I have had my TR186 for 3 weeks. Its been awesome.
Start of with a few pros and cons:

Pro:
Deck space to fish off is huge. Plenty of storage. I have changed to clear containers to keep all my tackle.
The Livewell is set up so well. Great spray on the inlet and seconday self timer. Extra pump to pump water out, and doubles up as recirculator. There's plenty of room for all my 40s (hahah can only keep dreaming).
Suprised at how well they sit in windy conditions. Definately doesnt move around or get caught up in the wind as much as a tinny.

Cons:
It doesnt like 8knot zones, as the nose sits up a bit.
Rod locker holds the rods well but its a bit of a pain to put the tip through the holes. Couple of the tip holes a small and you need to be careful with your guides.

Pmac - No stick jackets used. The holes are barely big enough to fit the tip guides. There's 3 larger wholes but the others are quite small.

Hey charlie could u just use a hole saw similar to what Sparkys use to cut out holes for downlights to make it bigger for the rod tips?

If you can enlarge the holes look for the liners for a golf bag in a golf store. They are a short tube with a nice rolled edge - you can glue them in the enlarged holes if you have the space.

After googling around, I worked out why the dash speedo had stopped working. There is an air line which runs to the motor. It had come off. So hopefully it will work again. Test out this weekend.

I'll post up a photo of the rod locker. You'll see how it all works. Its ok, cuz there is plenty of room in the other rod locker. I dont think I'll have more than 5 rods at any one time. Plus there's a good area for non boater rods. In addition I keep the rods I want to use top deck and strapped down.

Interested to see photos of anyone who's tried mounting something like an Humminbird 898c size screen behind their console. I've seen them on the side on a mount, but would prefer to have it behind the console.

Awesome boats mate. Too right about the 8 or 10knots though, she loves to sit up!. What I've done with the rod organiser's is just take them out. Makes life easy when its dark!

Cheers Jack, if you have a few photos of your console set up it would be good to see a few pics.

I finally took a photo of the rod locker. I've learnt to put them in blank down and guides up. So at the moment the rod holders are ok. The other side is basically used for other stuff as you can see
