Stella or saltiga?

Ahhh I just hate the shimano vs daiwa debates but I need to know something I'm seriously considering a trip to Fiji or somewhere like that to go popping for GTs then I thought what tackle? I've herd of te Stella 20000 and 18000sw being totally different to each other what would be better for popping and where does the saltiga fit in. Would a 20000/ saltiga be better for a nz jigging trip. Then comes the question what rod I'm open to all suggestions as I want to start planning for it an work out a budget.
Thanks guys.

I think it is low gear ratio for jigging and high gear ratio for popping. As for brand, I think we will decide by page 30

OUCH!

From browsing over forums for the past year or two it seems the mighty Stella reigns supreme in the big game department.

Goodluck. Take pics!

Yeah I'm sure there are a billion older threads on this. But times change opinions change so I want to hear from the guys who use them and use that to make a decision.

i fished 30k out on the 1st drop off this weekend for something different, the bloke (new best mate) that took us had a stella 20000 on a 24kg spinrod, I had a play with it and I knew I shouldnt have even touched it!

COZ NOW I WANT ONE!!!!

sweet as........but can I justify having one ill use maybe 5 times a year?.. im working on it!
Mind you the new saltiga 6500 is one daiwa reel I would go to the dark side for.......................

haha continue the rivalry!!
Either way I envy the decision you have to make.

That's what happens when you wear tackle world shirts supporting the evil mastermind worstling.
However I would probably shot myself in the face if that happend or cry for about a year and become so washed up with emotion!
