Were where ci4s made?
Should I be worried that my reel is coming from singapore when I thought I was buying from Japan?

The rarenium atleast is malaysian made,but they may make some models elsewhere.

Jim,
Only Shimano's top end stuff are Made in Japan these days, Yes those who have already mentioned Made in Malaysia is correct for the Stradic Ci4.

I had 4 Stradic Ci4's before I upgraded to my Steezs, the only reels I'd ever bought off Shimano and never had a problem with them, and I've owned a couple of Stella's too.
I'd have no Drama and picking up another couple, they're an awesome reel for their Price! Don't be worried to much about the Malaysia thing, these reels were bullet proof for me, The stradic Ci4 is to what The Sol is to Daiwa.. Tough & Cheap |

All of my CI4's ( Stradic, Rarenium and Sustains) made in Malaysia Id prefer my Japanese Twin Powers any day
