Opinions on minn Kota edge

Hi all
I have the opportunity to get hold of a minn Kota edge at a good price. Does anyone here have experience with them, good or bad. It I'll be used for estuary work, freshwater and a little bay stuff. It will pull a 4.3 meter tinny at high speeds

What are your views on them, good or bad?

Cheers
Rob

Just throw an anode on it and it will last forever, they can take a real flogging.
In my opinion a cable steer is way better than a servo unit as there is much less that can go wrong, but I'm a snag basher not an open water fisherman so I'm a bit biased.
Maxxum and foretrex are the top of the minnkota cablw steer line. The edge is the bottom, it has only five speed where the maxxum / foretrex has an infinate adjuster but that said the only thing i dont like about the edge is every now and then speed one is to slow and speed 2 is to fast other than that i would get one. Just make sure the shaft length suits your boat, i learnt that the hard way.
