Hey,

Depends on the boat, but you can't beat a bow mount it makes heaps of difference.

Cheers,

going on 4.3M tinny, bowmount would be ideal but for the price of the transom mount id deal with the lack of benifits of the bow mount.

Dont buy it, you really (100%necesarry) need a bow mount and atleast 55 pound. It will help you catch heaps more fish. If you want value for money get a cable steer, in my experience they last longer.

I have had 7 electric motors so far and the best has been the cable steers for sure. There is alot less to go wrong with them.

I have never had a electric last more than 6 months other than the cable steer minkotas

Cheers
Chris

Bow mount is best for sure. I've had my 40lb freshwater minn kota electric steer for 5 years or so now, and used it a heap in salt. Showing some corrosion but still works (touch wood).

Remember you need funds for a battery too and they aren't cheap either.

Seen quite a few transom mount mounts rigged to mount on the bow.

I ran a transom mount setup for 12 months then bought a bowmount. There is seriously no comparison a bowmount wins hands down. Specially if your fighting fish that like to do runs inbetween pylons and the likes. It is hard enough fighting some fish then try and turn your boat mid fight with one hand or a quick tap of the foot with two hands on your rod still.

Bow mount. Don't even try a transom mount, unless you like fishing one handed while leaning over the stern of your boat.. Not how I like to fish anyway!
