Hi Guys,

Can anyone quikly tell me what the real differences between these reels are?
Looking at one or the other now they are going for good prices.

Cheers, Nick.

Heartland has one extra bearing comparing to the SOL.

As MiSh said, all Heartlands bearing are CCRB.

I spoke to Daiwa Australia just before Christmas and they confirmed those two reels are "almost" identical except bearings and they said that in comparison, the Heartland is a better reel than SOL.

In 2000 size they are identical in terms of gear ratio, weight and drag.

Cheers,

I just brought a second hand hearland that was sold in a "used condition with some boat rash" im not sure how old it is but it is in better nick both cosmeticly and mech than my sol that is 3 years old.
Really impressed with the heartland.
I have thought about buying those from ray anns and prob will by 1 more.

Would I be better off buying a 2000 heartland instead of a 2000 ballistic? You can get them for around the same money.

My 2500 Heartland arrived today from Ray & Annes.
Went the heartland over the Sol on price and over the Ballistic because i needed a reel with a spare spool. Doesn't feel quite as smooth as the regal my old man recently baught but having said that it is a better reel and I'm sure it will be great for what i'll do with it.
