Need Help choosing ideal setup

Hi people i need you help
Im looking at buying a new setup my choices include
a Shimano Soare S704LS30 2-6 Lbs matched with Soare 2000HGS
or a Diawa TMZ-I 762LFS or the Xi version matched with new Caldia(11) 2506
Will be using rod for bass bream and squidding.Guys i dont want a brand war.Just advice.
I throw blades,little cranks,poppers,and the squid jigs are 2.2 to 2.5.

I would personally pick the daiwa combo out of the 2 u have there, I think it would be more suited to wat u want it for.

Are u also open to suggestions, price range??

Ive budgeted about $800 for the combo.Problem i have is The Diawa setup goes up to 7grams lure weight i can get up to 11 grams with the jigs.Do you think The ML would be too heavy for flicking poppers and small cranks.Ill be using 6Lbs main line and 6-8lb leader the Soare does 1-11 or 12 gram lures.

May I suggest a X860ds. They are a x fast taper, can throw poppers or heavy blades easily. Plenty of length at 7'2" rated at 1-5kg

Yep SOL would be great with it. You may be able to get a seccond had one if you look on all the forums.

Squid jigs generally call for a parabolic action in the rod. If you want to get technical you wouldnt use the same rod for squid jigs and some of the other lures as they have no barbs and need a bit of finesse in the rod work. you can counter this with a soft drag, no biggy. I prefer a X fast taper for most my fishing and these rods are very multi species friendly, bass, yellas, trout all because of their ability to cast both light and heavy lures

I use a Rarenium Ci4 2500 on a St Croix LegendXtreme. Well under your budget. Rod OS and reel locally in Sydney! I use this for bream, flatties and bass. Also caught the odd Salmon!

Do you know what guides they have? Are they all recoils? or does it have a titanium armed tip and stripper?

What model St Croix LegendXtreme are you using?

Whats the deal with the aqua coloured blank? looks like a old starlo stick

Both great value. Real hard to get in Australia as GLoomis is more popular here than St Croix.

I would probably go with SIC rings and titanium armed guides either side of the recoils. You can get the stripper changed at a tackle shop so you dont get guide wrap all the time.

You want something that wont rust if you are prepared to spend $800.00 on a set up. I would suggest trying to get the best guides you can on the rod, not sure if they do custom? That would be easier. Loomis GLX is made the same way. Some guys change the stripper guide, some guys dont.

It would be a good rod for the price, the guides are quite durable.

The emeraldas 2506 is an awesome reel I would highly recommend! You can get them for $430 if you look around. I have mine on a team daiwa zero 6-14lb rod and it's my favorite setup even over my branzino and certate on sol II rods! Try one of them on the tmz rod... Should be a nice combo!

Hey man I'm Gona reccomend something totally different a Daiwa Tierra 4-8lb 1 peice matched with a Tierra 2000 or 2500 size good combo
