Shimano Spool Swaps

I literally have no idea about reel designs so please take it easy on me
Can you swap spools on different models?
For instance putting a symettre spool on a sienna reel?
They look very similar in design.
Will this affect the drag or any other aspect a reel?

Yeah, the drag pressure is in the spool itself.

Not the reel.

Some reels are interchangable, e.g. Stradic, Rarenium, Ci4 Stradic, Twinpower etc all share the same spool.

Can't comment on the Sienna and Symetry, I doubt it honestly.

I'm pretty sure the Symetry can be swapped with a Siedo and Sahara however But, I can't say.

I'd say the Saros, Sienna and Slade can share the same spool.

Remember it can only be shared with the same size spool.

Except 2500-3000 sizes, as they have the same frame as eachother just a deeper spool depth.

i have a couple of sienna's and have bought a couple of spare spools off ebay and now found the seller sells symettre spools also, same size and it looks exactly the same. It may be worth a $20 gamble

May be worth ringing Dunphy direct for your spools. Found them helpful when chasing a 3000 spool for my 2500 Symetre. Regards. HBt.
