Personally, I think you should go fishing in all types of weather, it will make you a better fisherman. However, my opinion on what is a good breaming day has changed considerably.

These days I quite like bright sunny days when fishing the snaggy upper reaches of rivers. On days like this, the bankside snags cast good shadows into the water and seems to concentrate the fish into the shadowed sections.

For example, just this weekend, I was casting along a sunny but snaggy stretch of bank for no result. Then I cast into the shadow of a small tree that was no more than 2m high (but cast a dense shadow) and pulled a fish out of the middle of the shadow.

The fish will go into quite shallow water at all times of day provided it's shady and dirty.

I also belive that a high or rising barometer helps, with a highish and rising tide.

I'd say a sunny day witha high or rising tide, low winds and low barometric pressure.
Apparently the fish don't feed as much on a high pressure day?

Kingpin, I've actually heard both (they feed on low and high pressure days), so I don't really know what is right. I'm keeping a diary to try and find out for myself. I think other factors are probably more important.

Would you guys prefer fishing at midday on a high tide or in the evenings (when it gets cooler) on a low tide? Which do you think you be more productive?
