G'day scott.
I've got a 60hp efi mercury 4 stroke, 2003 model. Has been a fantastic engine, hasn't missed a beat.
I recently slashed the prop i had on mine and had to get a new one. I was using a standard 3 blade prop , 10 1/2 inch x 13 pitch. I went to a 4 blade to get extra puah at start to lift my heavy rig out of the water. I've got a 4.7 trailcraft profish, plate boat. Pretty heavy hull. I bought a 10 1/2 in x 12 4 blade prop from the states on ebay, cost $160 delivered to my door. I bought a solas alloy prop. It performs quite well, a liitle more hole shot push but lost a little off the top end and lost a few hundred rpm. Not much really to worry about. If you are chasing speed then check what rpm you are currently doing and go from there. You could possibly increase the pitch size to increase rpm. I don't know about increasing the overall size of the prop though.
On a three blade prop my boat would do 54km/hr at 5600-5800 rpm, flat water. With the new 4 blade prop the top end is now about 50km/hr at 5300rpm. Hope this is of some help.
cheers

try propgods.com Ken will advise you well.

He will need to know WOT speed and tacho, engine gearbox ratio and current prop type and pitch.

What speed are you getting out of it now?

I have a vengance prop (cant remember the specs) on my 4.35 wild cat and getting low 60's one up, it was a bit quicker but i ended up putting a foil on the back to give it better hole shot and to stop porposing.

ok, jim usually does a good job setting up the wildcats.
I know the estuary trecker porpises with a 40 4stk on it but never heard of the wildcats doing it.

either way there a quick boat with a 60. can't wait to but a 4 stroke back on mine!!!

Yeah its pretty quick, the porposing issue was just a teething problem, the guys at Manning river marine had it sorted quick smart and i'm very happy with how it performs.

The day that we saw you and your mrs on the water, I had 3 in the boat, full livewell and 60l of fuel - hole shot was a bit slow but we were still catching you guys....

yeah mate, mine has weight distribution issues and the outboard is too light for the hull.

All money though and other things come first...
