Quintrex 470 Top Ender
Just signed on the dotted line for one of these with a 70Hp EFI Yammy, 55Lb Riptide ST & Lowrance HDS7. Should be the goods I reckon, what do you guys think? I should have it from the factory next Friday so will post some pics then. Traded in my Haines Signature 600RF on it - downsizing!

That will obviously be one hell of a setup!!
Truly an alrounder, probably my dream boat but for now I love my 400 hornet trophy! Haha |

OK here it is! Haven't done much to it yet except start the motor run in process. 1 hour at no more than 2000 rev's, then 8 hours at no more than 4500 rev's. So I put her in last Sunday & did the 2000 rev thing (5-6 knots) & thought well I may as well troll at the same time. SO 30 mins later we had 2 x 600mm Queenies. A good sign I thought! Lucky boat! Anyway here's what a brand new from the factory Quintrex 470 looks like. Min Kota Riptide 55Lb ST iPilot, duel batteries, Lowrance HDS7 (with structure scan) & Yamaha Injected 4 stroke 70Hp. Over the next few months she'll get futher treatment; join the batteries with a battery management system (either CTek or Redarc), LED strip lighting under the gunnels, led underwater lights at the back, outriggers (from the 600RF). Already have the 6 rod snapper rack for the rear & having a custom bimini (with 6 rocket launchers) made now. The 70Hp Yammy (even at only 4500 rev's) just screams along! Anybody else got some photo's of their Qunitrex 470?
This is what I traded. ![]() For this! ![]() Here's some more: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The most AMAZING thing is that I just cannot believe how quiet the new Yamaha 4 stroke is. At idle it is barely audible that it's even going & even under rev's it's SOOOOO much quieter than the old 175Hp 2 stroke Yammy I had on the back of the last boat. Very happy so far! Nice boat mate. Well done. It even came with mojo. Fish on the first trip.

They look very versatile!! Would you take the Top Ender 5miles+ offshore? When i end up buying a boat, i am looking for versatility the most.

No worries on a good day. I've seen 435 hornets out wide of the Gold Coast doing it easy!

Nice rig wario.
As for the yammy, Buy a spare stater motor, a mate of mine had one and kept trying to start it even after it was started cause it was so quiet. Any chance of some photos of the underwater lights once you install them. Keen for some ideas to do to my rig. Cheers Adam |

Yes, certainly can up here (Whitsundays) on good days. Went out in it again yesterday & crossed the Whitsunday passage over to Hamilton Island airport to pick up a mate who flew in. It handled the 1m chop VERY well. I was impressed.

Mate, have had a 470 top ender from new for just over 12 months only got the 60hp yammie 4 stroke on the back but absolutly love the whole set up. Just thought i'd warn you to secure your seats in place as have had 2 of mine fly out of the boat whilst towing. One just disappeared never to be seen again (thought it may have been stolen) and the other one I saw fly out and nearly go through the windscreen of a car travelling behind me. Both of them were the seats behind the drivers console so I always strap them all in these days. Only other problem i've had is the crap wiring on the trailer lights which corroded away so re-wired and installed new led lights. Apart from that great boat to fish from enjoy it!

Thanks for the warning "hds". Will do in future. I'll watch the wiring too. I got the all aluminium trailer & hopefully it'll hold up better than my last galv one!

I also need to say.................how good are these Min Kota Riptide motors?! Tried it for the first time today (& this is the first one I've ever had) & the "spot" function is just BRILLIANT! So gald I'm up with 2011 technology now! It held the boat in the one spot against the tide (probably 4/5 knots) & wind (probably 12 knots). Very impressed!
