Heading to WA where to fish?

Hi Guys
Im heading to WA next weekend for a holiday and will be in the Margaret River area.
Whats the fishing like there and is there anywhere close by I should have a look at?
Im also staying in Perth for a while too before heading home.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Im going to be restricted in the gear I can take but would love to have a session or two while out west.
cheers
snapps

I'm not in Perth atm but I've been keeping my ear to the ground and Perth has had a fair bit of rain recently so I'd be trying the Swan river structure further downstream. There are plenty of yacht clubs which always hold some good fish, particularly now that the freshwater has forced them down.

The best bream fishing near Margaret River would probably be the Hardy inlet a few km south near Augusta, but I'll let the locals deal with that one.

Best bet is to get to exmouth- fishing there up there is world class.

If its bream your after the blackwood river (hardy inlet) isnt kind to shore fisho's. Best bet would be to concentrate around perth. You can shorebash better around there.

If your staying long enough in Perth get on a ferry and head over to Rotto and spin for some sambos off the rocks or head up to Hillary's boat marina and fish off the rock walls. Try the "flats" of mixed rock and sand around Freo for flatties they love prawn style lures also spin for choppers around there too. Pat.

check out cosey corner just south of margs, ive caught a few stray salmon there in the warmer months. bull herring galore and just in general a really awesome landscape to visit. there is a track off to the right where people go ballooning but i heard some sod had cut the rod holders off the rock?

Plenty of squid off the Busso jetty, and usually a few silver trevally around (skippy) you may bump into a John Dory or Sambo. Wonnerup Inlet (near Busso) is supposed to be the spot for bream as well. Usually a few tailor cruising around as well.

Hope you have a ball, what days are you in Perth?

cheers

Busselton is pretty easy mate, we go out on the jetty at night to catch squid and theres always herring, skippy, whiting, flatties around to catch. Some decent sharks been in the bay lately and plenty of people always trying for them and mulloway at night.

There is a small canal system near Busselton called Port Geograph Marina I think. I've fished there a few times and you can get a great mixed bag. Flats for whiting and some elbow-slapping yellow-eye mullet, rockwalls, pontoons and moored boats for some bream (have seen some absolute stonkers swimming around), by catches of skippy, herring and even chopper tailor. Also hit the jetty up.
