First 1000 size reel

Gday guys,

This is my first 1000 size reel. Settled on the new FJ - feels bloody nice! Have always used 2500's and 2000's in the past. I think this feels really good on the loomis! Looking forward to giving it a go.

Looks the good s Jewels

What LB braid you have on it.

I had a play with the New Shimano Arenos
Was surprised how smooth they are .

I think it would be very suitable - only issue would be that the rod would be tip heavy, but you'll get that with a lot of other reels too.

I got 8lb on it - thin enough in my opinion. I was suprised that it has more line capacity than my my 2004 and 2506.

Looks very nice, I like that they've gone back to the old white colour. I didn't realise the 2012's are out already, I'll have to go and have a look in the flesh.

The new Chronarch feels nice aswell. I would imagine the X-Ship must really make a different in the retreive.

Nice combo mate, 1000 size reels are really awesome. It just takes heaps less effort to cast and work slowly than the 2000-2500 reels. Yet it still hold 150-180 metres of 4 pound PE braid.
