Using the Electric Motor

Just curious,who leaves the outboard leg in the water,and who leaves out whilst using the electric motor.
And why,one or the other.

In, otherwise the boat just keeps swinging about, as it has nothing to act like a keel.

What if your fishing in very shallow water,sunken logs etc

You can always trim/tilt your motor half way up (its called shallow water drive on my tohatsu)

I bump into a few things, get the odd scratch on the outboard leg but it doesnt bother me too much. It is a fishing boat after wall

same sort of thoughts i have i fished a river today for bass and there was logs just under the surface im pretty sure the electric would hit the submerged logs as well. i have a 54inch electric on the way was wondering if you can adjust the hight of the electric??? sorry for intruding tassiebream haha

not sure of other brands, but on my watersnake you can adjust the collar, so the motor sits at different levels in the water. You can also tilt the motor up and whilst your holding it up you can use the footpedal to move around...its noisy but works.

Hi Beechey,
No problems for intruding.
With your electric motor there should be a collar on the top of the shaft,that you can undo a wing nut,etc to raise or lower the shaft.

yer nice thats what im getting the watersnake!! what battery have you got to run yours im getting the 54lb like what ah?? And do they run good as well?

I got a 110 amp (I think thats the measurement) battery that runs the electric and the electric start on the outboard, plus lights/sounder when they are working.

I got a 44lb watersnake and mine has seen plenty of use, has heaps of scratches and bumps but still goes albeit a little noisy at times.
