Is this new freams as good as it sounds.

http://www.DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh.com.au/index.cfm...roduct_id=8193

For just over $200 it seems to good to be true.
Any info.
It's like crossing a certate with a luvias.

My question is - does the hanle screw into the reel or does it have a retaining screw on the oppposite side to the handle...and...if you grab the rotor to stop it turning and you move the handle back and forth is there much freeplay.

You can take anything apart if you try hard enough. :-)

Pretty sure they run a cap screw (like sol, heartland etc) looking at the pic in the add in VFM.

I havent layed my mits on one yet, but a good friend (and fellow gear junkie) who has one already claims they feel pretty good.

As for the servicing thing,we all know the mag sealed reels have to go to Japan for servicing, one can only assume the oil sealed models are going to be the same.

Only time will tell how long these reels will go before they need a service.I been thrashing my certate 2500 for over a year and it still feels as good as new.

Mag Sealed reels just need to go back to Daiwa Service Dept in Sydney
Not Japan.

And you can still service all your roller bearings and handle bearings. Only for a major gearbox service does it need to be sent to daiwa. Which with a lot of use (multiple times per week) should only really need to be done once every 12-18months.

Oil sealed reels can be serviced by yourself as its just an oil soaked felt washer.
