Hey mate

There are a heap of hardbodies out there that would suit your situation. Lures worth looking at would be Cranka Cranks, ZipBaits Khamsins and Jackall Chubbies. For cheaper alternatives, Atomic Crank 38's, Clear OarGee Lil' Rippers and Maria Cranks are also worth a look at. My favourite colours for clear water are Ghost Bluegill and a transparent pink such as Cranka's "pink bitts", for dirtier water I would go for black/golds, greens, browns and reds. All seem to work for me, couldn't see why they wouldn't work for you!

Will you be needing to make long casts? If you are shore-based then the Kangoku Shad would be the better option seeing as-though it is heavier and will cast further then the sugar minnow.

well i have a few sugar minnows and they pretty much suck (for me) only good when twitched very poor slow roll. the shads now there a nice lure cast well have a nice action dive deep but a high rod will get them at around 2-3ft deep. but then again thats my opinion. go for what feels best. mitch

Have been using a lot of Maria lures of late , the crank bait series cast a mile and they have three different diving debths , also been giving some of the shads a wirl , jerking them and then suspending , been grate for tuff conditions.

No secrets at all, same as most other similar style lures. Slow rolling works best I've found. Twitching and pausing always works. On the flats banging them into the sand can work as well.

What colours do you have??
