What is your must have HB?
Hi Guys,
I have, what I think, is a fairly good selection of HB lures, but I get confused with just the shear amount of different lures out there. I have had some success on hb's but only when i'm trolling. I would like to get a good selection of deep diving etc and any hints would be greatly appreciated. I waited to get all the lures from TB but would have to sell the house and the yak... if anyone wants to suggest what not to use in my collection feel free... a must have for me is Atomic Cranks in the mid range or Atomic Shads in the deep range, colours depend on the water clarity, either walking around flicking them along banks or in my yak getting tight to structure.

Jackall Chubbies in ghost gill are a must have for the clear water, with oargee lil rippers in the colour bd another good lure to have for the dirty water. Also check out OarGees new range of clear lures, QA and QBS are proving to be great lures and these little lures have caught me some nice fish.

sx40's range can't go wrong. Having plenty of stickbaits i your range is a good idea as you can cover from surface to deep. Sprat sticks work a treat, Tiemco's although good luck getting many, those Crystal Alives work a treat as well.

Another one for the atomic crank deep. Best lure going round in muddy prawn and ghost brown shad. I also love the shallow maria cranks, they are tops to. And these lure boths come in around the $15 mark.

G'day
You seem to be on the right track in your lure selection so far. I would reccomend a few lures to the selection, blades for fishing deep water, crank baits for fishing shallow/mid depths and some walk the dog lures for the surface action. Blades/Vibes - Cranka Vibes, although I'm associated with the Cranka Brand I've had constant success on these vibes where as I've previously generally struggled with these styled lures. BOB (the black one), Orange tiger and the purple one have been proven fish catchers both socially and in tournaments. Also worth mention are Bassday Kangoku vibes and the ecogear zx blades. A hint for the cranka vibes as well as many others - upgrade the hooks to zx blades to reduce the snags. Crankbaits - Any of the previous mentioned lures such as chubbies, atomics and cranka cranks are all proven fish catchers. Other lures worth mentioning are the Smith camion range and jackall colt minnows - although these are a jerkbait. Surface lures - You've got some good ones already - I like the stiffy poppers, rip them hard when its a bit chopppy and watch them get smashed. I'd also add some jazz zappers - cheap and good! as well as some Sammy 65's and megabass dog x jrs.

My all round favorite lure would be the tiemco sinking stick minnows for any fish. Find any call me!! Haha others are smith shirasu lls's, zipbait raphaels, bassday sinking sticks, 3b sub dogs ( notice a trend)
