Decisions, Desicions, Desicions.

So i am really stuck on this one guys.
I want to purchase a reel for Pinkies, Spangos and small Tuna.
I cant decide whether to get a Daiwa Sol 3000 or a Stradic 4000FI
I would put it on a Trion probably(4-7kg).
The lower ratio and less weight makes the Sol better for snapper and spangos, but the Stradic is better for tuna cause of its higher gear ratio.
I would put 20lb Super Braid on it.

Gear ratio for snapper and spanglies isn't that important. Both have decent line capacity and similiar drag abilities.

I would go with the Sol if it's going to make fishing more comfortable.

the stradic as about 30ft more of line capcity and 1 more kg of drag but 100gms heavier and missing a ball bearing.
What reel would cope the best with the hard knocks of saltwater fishing?

Can't tell you about the sol but the stradic is a true workhorse, pick it up and you will know what you're dealing with. There is a reason why the stradic is 100 grams heavier, that's because it's buff. Remember: muscle weighs more than fat Also, unless you are in a rush why not wait another month or so and grab the new stradic.

Id go daiwa heartland similar to sol but extra bearing and also a larger main drag bearing than the sol its a slightly better reel than the sol but not as pretty.you can pick em up cheaper than the sols if you look around..only the 4000 is made in japan though...

only the 4000 of the heartland is or the new stradic?
the new stradic does look pretty nice but cant really be bothered waiting.
would rather keep the extra money aswell and buy some plastics or something.

Up north playing with spanglies at the moment... 4000 reels dont cut it. Just bought a 5000 stella SW, fishing 40lb braid and still losing lures- though maybe not as many... Next year will have to get another one of these outfits to keep as a spare. A saragosa 5000 is a cheaper option but lots more weight to it.

Im going to keep my 4000 for lighter stuff.

Why exactly were you using lures??
to light a line or you just didn't beef up the drag?
