Hot Sauce?

Anyone used it? I bought some yesterday for the old ci4 and it made an instance improvement. Silent and smooth.

I bought some today online, its supposed to be good stuff a mate put it on his reel and said it made a significant difference.

Yep, good stuff. Just don't use too much of it on your reel knob bush. I did and it stained my RCS cork knob

good grease and oil but makes a horrible mess! and the red colour seems to stain alot of things and never comes off.
it is good stuff though, just gotta be careful where you put it.

Is the stuff you put on reels that helps you cast further? Would there be any advantage of putting this on my Bream reels or is it more for surf fishing where distance is key most of the time?

Cast further? Depends on what reels.

For baitcasters, which the casting distance is affected by "how free the spool rotates" and so the two spool bearings, then YES. But I use ZPI F-0 by the way, a low viscosity, high speed oil.

For spinning reels, your line just comes out of the spool. I cant see how the oil or grease could add you casting distance.

are u talking about hot sauce grease or oil and where did you put it and what improvement did it make ?

As a very broad rule, oil for bearings and grease for everything else. Oil makes bearings spin freer and smoother and grease does the same for gears etc.

on a bait caster it makes a huge improvement. love the stuff (oil), wont do to much on a spin reel, great for roller bearing but.

That's a relief

@ Tuan: I got the grease and thankfully I did not put it on the bearings, only on the internals. The grease seemed to remove even the tiny bit of scratchiness with rotation and if the packaging is correct, should provide some corrossion resistance.
