Hey mate,
Definitely not metal. It's plastic.
Cheers

no zaion only comes in the luvias or above. It's a plastic body but is still a good reel.

The new Freams is made of Zaion.

The Emeraldas weighs 230g, so it's definately not zaion.

Seems pretty odd for a $200 reel being based on a plastic frame...

i think it is based on the original Tierra frame, making it a cast aluminium frame

you can tell by the lack of scews on the decorative trim around the handle shaft, on the Tierra this section was glued on, not scewed in like the Luvius / Zaion, Sol / Alloy & Certate / Alloy frames.

I handled this reel last weekend and its a nice reel for the money...its not over heavy and is smooth as a 200 dollar reel can be...the handle does not screw in like the luvias...it has a knob on the opposite side of the handle...it has the shallow spool which holds enough 10 pound braid without the need for heavy backing....its not bad on the eye and to me was cast alloy which is good enough....i compare it to the egi which is no longer made...

duc Here is my take

As it is a 2506 it should only put out light drag pressure.
so you will be only running light line which is thinner in DIA.
And really how many times have you seen your backing when fishing for squid or bream.

I went to the city compleat angler today and had a play with an E Gee it looks the goods way better than i expected and i just bought a EGI-force type C rod its not bad looks nice for $250 from hooked on bait and tackle in Hoppers cant wait to test it out ive never really used a rod like it before and i hope i like it.
Its a little heavy at 138grams, my lox rod i use for bream is 88grams so it will feel weird at first.
