saltwater soak

hi folks on saturday my young fella (aged 6) had a rod pulled from his hand while being distracted by the fisheries guy fining me for leaving my fishing license at the van,lol
anyway we figured its gone, next day we where fishing very close to where it went in and his rod with a live poddy loads up and im thinking flattie but turns out he picked up his line and recovered his stradic and bream finesse combo,,with the culprit still attached,a legal sized red (no BS) and his turtle back worm still there
he was over the moon as he was shattered on the saturday
anyway
ive had the reel soaking in fresh water
im flat out this week and wont be able to take it to shimano for a strip down
what do you guys think i should do
strip it down myself and regrease and oil
or leave it soaking till next week]
cheers

I'd strip it clean it then send it back to Shimano to get them to put it back together Soak bearings and brass components in inox syrup till you can get round to it
