There are a few patterns that are worth keeping in the tacklebox when chasing bass on surface flies ranging from spun deerhair flies to the foam flies.
Typical ones are: Bass Dahlberg's in small to medium sizes. Gurgler patterns Small bass popper flies Depending on wild vs impoundment bass, in the wild zone cicada looking patterns work really well as well, frog patterns and grasshopper or hopper patterns. Great fun on surface flies! Michael
