Ewen Maddock Tilapia?

Anyone know anything or has caught any tilapia in Ewen Maddock Dam? A mate says he got 1 on the weekend and now im keen to give it a crack, has anyone pulled any from the dam and be able to say weather there is anything big yet? his was about 25-30cm...

Perhaps you should alert your states DPI, as they are classified as a noxious pest...?

doesnt matter what u do, this 1 was past its sexual maturity, which means it would have bred, i know tilapia and if theyre in there, theyre in there, theres nothing you can do to stop them, there is no point trying to kill them off, it just wont happen, just accept it theyre here to stay, same thing has happened at somerset, thyre there, and not going anywhere, but some of the local fishos have realised... THEYRE AMAZING EATING!!! its the fish that feed the whole of africa and has for thousands of years... so catch them, kill them and eat them, but theyll never be wiped out

Ha 25-30cm try 30-40 now man n there is one bay that is just packed full of them, if you go down n throw a rock in the water they just boil up everywhere

yeah i didnt know that they were there, only found out tday at school when a mate said he got a small one, have u fished it and caught any? id love to give it a crack twitching lightly weighted gulp sandworms... itll be awesome fun

im up for that hahahaha do u have any pics you could post? i dont care how i get them, but back in africa we caught them on earth worms so i was thinking a very slowly worked sandworm would work, and at somerset mates have caught them on worms too so theyre not much different... :P

Haha na man I don't generally take photos of talapia lol n yer I get them on either a red worm fly or a weed fly when u can see them sitting in the shallows

Yeaaahhh, im keen, just gotta take my fly reel into tie n fly and get it fixed, then that rod will be back in action, but spin gear will do it at first :P
