Best lure choice for tea stained water?

Hey guys,

Another hardbody thread.

The fishing up here have been going of at the moment.

All the rain have turned the water tea stained and was wondering which lures are the stand out in this kind of water?

Pontoons, Banks, mangroves, boatramps etc.

Ranging from 0.5m to 5m.

Wit heaps of rain the thermocline should be deeper so fish would likely be a bit deeper in the salt, you could try a darkish coloured vibe or a lightly weighted soft plastic and have the current drift it past a deep snag or past a jetty

In dirty water go for rattling crankbaits. Darker colours seem to work best for me.

dark lures tend to stand out a whole heap in tea stained waters, so id be going anything black/dark red. Something like this would go well

Even completely black would be good, depending on how bad the water really is, difficult to comment without seeing it myself

definetly use opaque lures, transparent would be hard to see

Thanks guys,

I've been getting most my fish on purple.

But I see, I need to get myself a few darker lures.

I'll be sure to give the stiffy vibe a go, seeing how I have that actual colour.

I'll try and get myself some Maria's, atomic's and 3B's aswell.

Always liked the Maria's lures.

What about Ecogear BlueGill?

Thanks guys,

Does anyone know anything about how good these fellas go?

Love the look of them, and now there is a deeper suspending model.

It's ever more tempting.
