saw these today @ anaconda, really realy nice reel, the 2500 in pflugers is around the size of around a 1000 in shimano's and daiwa's and only weighs 159 grams and the 3000 they didnt have so couldnt see it but i'd imagine its the size of a 2000 or 2500 in shimano or daiwa and weighs 178grams. price of these were $279 but @ 30% they were something like $195. cheers Nic |

Bought a Pfleuger Supreme 2000 XT about 12 months ago just out of curiousity. I am a dedicated Diawa man and had an older model Supreme in the past but loved the look of this little dynamo the Supreme XT. Its performance matches its looked. Very under rated reel, and well worth a look. For more info have a look at this site http://www.purefishing.com.au/berkle...s-reviewed-by/. Cheers

That said, I owned two Supremes and they were both rubbish. Your post borders on insulting to anyone who has even half a grasp on the English language.

If you are looking for a real for under 100$, i highly recommend the " penn sargus 2000 ". I have had mine for 6 months or so now, hasn't had a serviced just washed after each use, It seems perfect still no corrosion drag is still as good as the day i got it.

I had a Supreme MG and a Supreme XT
Asides from different looks they're all more or less the same with only very minor changes. MG - 9/1 bearings, Magnesium body and rotor, alu spool, thin bail wire (though strong enough), oiled felt drag washers, alu handle arm, plastic knob. XT gets you - 9/1 bearings, magnesium body and rotor, alu spool, thicker hollow bail wire, carbon fibre drag washers, alu handle arm, plastic knob. XTS gets you - 9/1 bearings, magnesium body and rotor, alu spool, thicker hollow bail wire, carbon fibre drag washers, carbon handle arm, EVA knob. Internally (gears, bearings etc) they're all identical, which is important to know before I share my experience with the supreme line of reels. My first supreme, an XT, was awful from the outset. It had a bad grind on the wind and no amount of playing around with spacers helped. So I returned it and got another. The second one, also an XT, was OK to start aside from a bit of play in the handle. After a couple of months it all went to hell, from memory the line roller was noisy, it was starting to feel harder to wind and a little grindy. I tried servicing it to no avail. Internally it looked fine... The third one was the MG. Felt excellent to start with but before long started exhibiting the same symptoms as the second XT. So, that said, I can't recommend the Supreme series of Pflueger reels... I'll try a Patriarch sometime in the future, hopefully it's a long ways better. If you want a no nonsense pflueger that you can kick around, drop, throw, splash and generally beat the hell out of it and know that it will keep on running, grab a pflueger medalist 6030. My 6035 and 6040 just won't die.
